Test button next to Start runs the real private-only go-live pipeline as a
session variant (IsTestStream): BeginTestStream -> extracted
StartStreamingSession(alsoRecord:false) shared with the dialog path — no Go
Live dialog, no 'last live' stamp, no recording. Gold top bar + TEST badge +
'End Test' button face; TEST drawer (third right-rail pull-out, three-way
exclusivity) auto-opens once the liveChatId resolves.
Chat tooling: Mock Chat Input sends a REAL liveChat/messages.insert
(YouTubeStreamService.InsertChatMessageAsync) that round-trips the real ~2s
poll and renders through the live overlay; simulated Subscriber/New
Member/Super Chat events inject through the poller's MessageReceived seam
(YouTubeChatService.InjectSimulatedMessage, ChatMessage.IsSimulated) — the
insert API only creates textMessageEvent, so non-text events are local-only
by design (ref: developers.google.com/youtube/v3/live/docs/liveChatMessages/insert).
Scopes youtube + youtube.force-ssl already cover insert; no re-consent.
Good Dog: ytLive.Tests/TestStreamTests.cs — coordinator protocol with fake
HTTP + real-window drawer exclusivity/gate. 0 warnings; 314/314 pass (clean
run; intermittent host abort is the pre-existing WinRT-webcam flake).
Docs ride in the same change: TASKS.md row 41, TASKS/task-41-test-stream-mode.md,
ai.md (YouTube Live API constraints), HANDOFF rewrite.
Current-OAuth-scope data, no re-consent: subscriber bars for both tiers (500 fan-funding /
1,000 ad-revenue; the 2027-02-01 doubling is versioned date-aware data in YppThresholds),
3-uploads/90d, live standing from channels.list auditDetails, self-reported 2FA/AdSense
checkboxes + deep links (Google 2-Step / youtube.com/earn), and the "what counts" education.
Every refresh appends a YppSnapshot (SQLite v10) so the analytics slice has history from day one.
- ChannelStatsService (channels.list statistics,auditDetails,contentDetails + playlistItems.list,
virtual CaptureCurrentAsync = test seam); YppTrackerViewModel mirrors LiveBroadcastFormViewModel.
- MainViewModel.Ypp.cs: Ypp property, ChannelStatsFactoryOverride seam, one-open-at-a-time drawer
exclusivity (both directions); account sign-in/out/restore hooks in Account.cs.
- PreviewPane.xaml: TextPullOutHost is now a drawer bank [broadcast][ypp][stacked white tabs];
outside-click collapse covers both drawers. MainWindow.xaml.cs updated.
- Wait - watchers: the whole feature already reviewed against YouTube's own docs (YPP Earn tab +
API availability) before building — see TASKS/task-39-ypp-journey-tracker.md.
- ONE integration test: YppPullOutTests (snapshot capture/persist + checklist round-trip +
drawer exclusivity). 313/313 pass, 0 warnings.
- Memory in same commit: TASKS.md row, ai.md Journey-tracker bullet (roadmap→reality), HANDOFF.md.
Slice 2 (Analytics yt-analytics.readonly re-consent → watch-hours/Shorts + velocity/ETA +
sparkline) is queued behind this, not merged.
Click-to-pin an open window as the full-bleed Live backdrop, via the existing
window:<hwnd> capture path (same render layer as game/desktop). Session-scoped:
window:/picker: keys heal to auto on reload (HWND-recycle hazard); pin wins
while the window enumerates, then auto-fallbacks (game → desktop → static); a
dead window's capture session heals to auto, no dead ends.
Fix: ScreenCaptureSourceFactory.Resolve hex-parsed "window:0x<Hwnd>" WITHOUT
stripping the 0x prefix — NumberStyles.HexNumber rejects it, so every pin
resolved null ("No capture target for this key") and the heal silently rolled
back. Same flaw in IsAliveWindowPin (pin-wins guard was dead). Both fixed.
Commit also carries an out-of-scope prerequisite: PillRadioTests.cs:105 had a
committed stray token ("...PrimaryStartButtonLabel soil;", CS1003) blocking the
whole test-project compile — token removed.
Plus the previous session's uncommitted pricing docs (one-time $29/$49) that
share TASKS.md/ai.md/HANDOFF.md.
Wire the MediaVideoSourceManager into the live pipeline (new partial
ViewModels/MainViewModel.Media.cs mirrors Webcam/Background partials):
readonly _mediaManager assigned in the core ctor (decode at 1920x1080 master,
dispatcher-coalesced preview), OnMediaPreviewBitmapChanged adopts the shared
bitmap onto every IsMediaSource with a matching MediaPath, a
Source { IsMediaSource, MediaPath } case in ResolveOutputFrame feeds
GetLatestFrame, and the manager is disposed on shutdown.
Source.DisplaySource now routes VideoImageSource for MediaSource (Source.cs),
so media previews/canvas show decoded video.
Compositor needs no change: BlitContent UniformToFill-scales any frame to the
element rect. Decoder/manager/seam derived-work mirrors ScreenCaptureManager
(citation in commit for slice-step-3).
Test (one unit for this change, mirroring the live-capture case):
Source_DisplaySource_IsVideoImageSource_WhenMediaSource. 14/14 media +
DisplaySource tests pass, build 0 warnings. Docs (TASKS/HANDOFF/ai.md) updated.
- Add ElementKind (Static/Dynamic) to SceneElement base; Source/WebcamSceneConfig classify
- Services/SceneGraph.cs: owns the Scenes collection (ViewModel's Scenes delegates to it),
the element mutation surface (Add/Insert/Remove/Move, each invalidating the bake), and the
queries that were scattered LINQ (GetBackground/GetWebcam/GetChatBoxes/GetSplitPoint/IsStatic)
- SceneCompositor: split-aware BakeStaticBase + CompositeLayers + Render(.., staticBase, split);
builds/caches the static base below the split point in source-rect space
- FramePump: optional SceneGraph -> optimized bake+composite path; falls back to full render
- MainViewModel: routes element mutations through the graph; invalidates the bake on static
layout/opacity/visibility/useDefaultBackground changes and after background heal/Ensure
- Integration test SceneGraphTests.BakedStaticBase_WithDynamicLayer_CompositesCorrectly
Derivative survey (mandated): tried before writing — OBS does per-source opacity/visibility
caching and static-scene baking; this mirrors OBS's 'cached static source' optimization.
3 documented defensive deviations from the spec (ChatOverlayLayer stays decoupled;
background helpers stay VM-static for direct testability; full facade peel deferred post-1.0)
in TASKS.md + ai.md. Scope check passed; clean build 0 warnings.
Bundle exception (2026-08-27): this lands prior-session work plus today's
transparency fix as one commit per creator instruction.
WebView2Manager (new): off-screen WebView2 control parked at -5000/-5000 in
the window's visual tree, captures via CapturePreviewAsync every 100 ms into
a BGRA8 VideoFrame. Source Width/Height sync to the control via
PropertyChanged. JS transparent-background injection runs on every
NavigationStarting/NavigationCompleted so the page's own CSS does not paint
white over the capture.
Transparency fix: DefaultBackgroundColor = System.Drawing.Color.Transparent
set on the WPF control before EnsureCoreWebView2Async. The WPF SDK doc says
the value is forwarded to the controller on init; the IDL (ICoreWebView2-
Controller2) confirms alpha=0 makes the capture alpha-preserving. The
prior-session 'CoreWebView2.BackgroundColor' path was the wrong property
name and has been replaced.
LayoutStore: WebUri column added (idempotent ALTER TABLE) and round-tripped
on save/load (schema v11).
MainViewModel: WebView2Manager constructed on Loaded; loaded web sources
re-registered; Source.WebUri PropertyChanged forwards to manager.
MainWindow: off-screen host Canvas added to visual tree.
Tests: 3 scale-sync + WebView2_DefaultBackgroundColor_Is_Transparent +
LayoutStorePersistenceTests.WebSource_WebUri_Persists. 234/236 pass
(2 pre-existing failures unchanged).
Scale bug (DPI/physical-pixel mismatch) still open.
Same root cause as IsChatBox — SourceType binding fails on WebcamSceneConfig,
WPF defaults Visibility to Visible without calling the converter.
Added virtual bool IsCountdown on SceneElement, override in Source.
Swapped binding to BoolToVis. Removed dead SourceTypeToVisibility converters.
SceneElement was missing virtual IsChatBox property (unlike IsWebcam, IsWebSource, IsImageSource).
WPF binding failed silently when SelectedElement was a webcam, defaulting StackPanel to Visible.
Added virtual bool IsChatBox => false on SceneElement, made Source.IsChatBox override it.
- Source.ShowDesktop bool persisted in DB (schema migration + LayoutStore)
- ClearBackdropCaptureAsync clears CaptureKey + VideoImageSource for static fallback
- Top bar: red/green/pulsing status light, avatar via BitmapImage, Log In button
- ShowStartStream now requires IsConnected
- RunMockChatPreviewAsync: simple async loop, ChatPreviewEnabled property on Source
- EnsureDefaultBackdrop called on every scene switch, seeds all 5 scenes
- SeedEndingBackdrop replaces existing, SeedChatBackdrop added
- SceneCatalog: Chat scene display name corrected (layer = 'YouTube Chat')
- Left panel spacing consistency, context menu reordered
- Border animation rendering via code-behind Storyboard approach
- 3 new backdrop assets (ending-backdrop.jpg, chat-backdrop.jpg, live-backdrop.jpg)
- Build 0 warnings, 178 tests passing
- Source.IsDraggable now includes ChatBox and WebSource (was Image-only)
- ChatBox default: 400×1080, top-right corner (1520, 0) on first add
- SeedStartingBackdrop: embeds starting-backdrop.jpg as Background source
in the Starting scene on first launch (pack:// resource)
- Assets/llamacasty-icon.png: new brand llama figure (no text)
- Assets/llamacasty-icon.ico: converted from PNG for executable
- Assets/llamacasty-logo.jpg: full logo with text
- ytLive.csproj: updated ApplicationIcon and Resource references
- All XAML windows: updated Icon references to new file
The web source section's visibility was bound to SelectedElement.Type
via a converter, but WebcamSceneConfig has no Type property — the WPF
binding path didn't resolve correctly and the section leaked through.
Added IsWebSource virtual property to SceneElement (mirrors existing
IsWebcam pattern), overridden in Source to return
Type == SourceType.WebSource. Section visibility now binds directly to
SelectedElement.IsWebSource via BoolToVis.
1c of 7-issue polish batch. 207 tests, 0 warnings.
- Elements scrollbar no longer deselects element on click (check ScrollViewer, not StackPanel)
- Web source: URI + check/revert buttons merged into single DockPanel row, consistent order (✓ rightmost)
- Countdown timer moved from Elements panel to inline in source list row, range clamped to 1-30 min
- Volume slider click-to-position restored: e.Handled prevents IncreaseLarge from overriding position, Thumb drag still works
- Desktop audio meter: asymmetric smoothing (attack 0.2, decay 0.08) for faster response to silence
- 207 tests passing, 0 warnings
1. About box bg → #0A0C1A (matches icon bg)
2. Elements panel collapses when no element selected / scene changes
3. OpacityChip moved from preview overlay into Elements panel
4. Color picker fix: cast to SceneElement not Source (WebcamSceneConfig was silently blocked)
5. Red left accent bar on selected items in Scene/Source lists
6. ✓ character replaced with Path checkmark icon in Elements panel
7. Removed ToolTip='Applied' from green check buttons
8. Created bugs.md with first entry (iTunes audio on mic meter)
9. Full logo in README + About box uses ytLlive-logo.png
Software compositor that renders a scene into the encoder's master VideoFrame,
mirroring the XAML preview minus editing chrome: backdrop -> background ->
elements (UniformToFill cover-crop, round clip, mirror, opacity, border) ->
branding flash.
NOTE FOR USERS: this change shows NO difference in the app's UI — it is pure
backend scaffolding laying the groundwork for live video capture/streaming.
The preview you see is unchanged.
- Services/Compositor/: SceneCompositor (Render(scene, frameFor resolver,
flashFrame, CompositorOptions)), CompositorOptions (source rect + output
size; 16:9 full master, vertical 607x1080 -> 1080x1920), StretchMath (pure
UniformToFill + bilinear), StaticPixelCache (asset bytes -> BGRA8 frame)
- Frame sources injected via Func<SceneElement, VideoFrame?> resolver, so the
compositor is pure, WPF-free, and hermetic to test (D3D11 upgrade behind the
same seam later)
- SceneElement.TryGetBorderColor public (shared hex parse), stale
MainViewModel comment fixed, pre-existing CS1998 in YouTubeAuthServiceTests
cleaned up
- Tests: SceneCompositorTests integration (full scene + vertical tier + flash)
+ StretchMath units, docs updated (72 tests passing, 0 warnings)
