Creator: 'when the test slide-out is active, then any click off the div should
close the div — this behaviour applies to all tabs, not just TEST.'
MainWindow.Window_PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown already closed the Stream Settings
and YPP drawers on any click outside TextPullOutHost, but its close list skipped
TestSession — so the TEST drawer never dismissed on an outside click.
Fix: run TestSession.CloseDrawerCommand in the same outside-click branch.
All three drawers share the rail host, so the containment check is unchanged.
Good Dog: ONE integration test — the existing TestStream window section now
raises a window-root PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown (source = window => outside the
rail; deterministic, no OS mouse) and asserts the TEST and Stream Settings
drawers both close. Gate: clean build 0 warnings, full vstest 318/318.
Current-OAuth-scope data, no re-consent: subscriber bars for both tiers (500 fan-funding /
1,000 ad-revenue; the 2027-02-01 doubling is versioned date-aware data in YppThresholds),
3-uploads/90d, live standing from channels.list auditDetails, self-reported 2FA/AdSense
checkboxes + deep links (Google 2-Step / youtube.com/earn), and the "what counts" education.
Every refresh appends a YppSnapshot (SQLite v10) so the analytics slice has history from day one.
- ChannelStatsService (channels.list statistics,auditDetails,contentDetails + playlistItems.list,
virtual CaptureCurrentAsync = test seam); YppTrackerViewModel mirrors LiveBroadcastFormViewModel.
- MainViewModel.Ypp.cs: Ypp property, ChannelStatsFactoryOverride seam, one-open-at-a-time drawer
exclusivity (both directions); account sign-in/out/restore hooks in Account.cs.
- PreviewPane.xaml: TextPullOutHost is now a drawer bank [broadcast][ypp][stacked white tabs];
outside-click collapse covers both drawers. MainWindow.xaml.cs updated.
- Wait - watchers: the whole feature already reviewed against YouTube's own docs (YPP Earn tab +
API availability) before building — see TASKS/task-39-ypp-journey-tracker.md.
- ONE integration test: YppPullOutTests (snapshot capture/persist + checklist round-trip +
drawer exclusivity). 313/313 pass, 0 warnings.

Slice 2 (Analytics yt-analytics.readonly re-consent → watch-hours/Shorts + velocity/ETA +
sparkline) is queued behind this, not merged.
The ~30Hz CapturePreviewAsync PNG poll capped real cadence at ~20Hz
(35–165ms full-HD encode+decode), so a 60fps widget still juddered at ~1/6
speed. Replaced polling with frame-driven capture of the composition
controller's root visual — the mechanism WebView2CompositionControl and
Flutter's webview_windows use (graphics_context.cc captures the root
surface_ visual via CreateGraphicsCaptureItemFromVisual; reference:
github.com/microsoft/Windows.UI.Composition.WinUI / flutter-internal
webview_windows). Frames now arrive at the renderer's own pace; capture
memory is epoch'd ring reuse + one crop-sized shared WriteableBitmap.
New Services/WebCaptureFrameSource.cs owns GraphicsCaptureItem + free-
threaded Direct3D11CaptureFramePool + session (Straight alpha readback,
per-frame FindContentBounds → CropBounds). WebView2Manager reworked around
per-session composition controllers + one UI-thread Compositor created via
the CoreMessaging CreateDispatcherQueueController P/Invoke (the 19041
projection lacks CreateOnCurrentThread); internal seam ctor
(Dispatcher, Func<string,IScreenCaptureSource>?) for hermetic tests.
CaptureScheduler.cs deleted; the three SetCaptureInterval cadence hooks
removed; InitWebView2() moved from MainWindow ctor to Loaded (a parent
HWND must exist for the composition controller); the hidden WebViewHostPanel
overlay deleted. TransparentBackgroundScript unchanged.
Tests: WebView2ManagerTests reworked — 4 control-size + scheduler tests
dropped, FindContentBounds tests moved to WebCaptureFrameSource, ONE
integration test (Frames_PublishCroppedPreview_And_CoalesceToLatest_CarryingCropBounds)
drives the seam with a FakeWebSource + background-STA DispatcherPump.
Suite 293/293, 0 warnings.
NOTE: composition path NOT yet verified on a device — the take is the
next step. Web work committed locally only (no push per standing rule).
Docs same-commit: ai.md Slice 14 + supersede marker on Slice 11, HANDOFF,
MyMistakes (CoreMessaging DQ + namespace-landmine recipe), TASK 17,
Controls/ViewModels/Services indexes.
OverlayHost.xaml(.cs) takes the window-root overlay dialog grid (settings/
bug/feature/about panels); BackToAbout_Click moved in via inherited DataContext.
WebViewHostPanel + ToastArea stay as thin window-root stubs so the WebView2 ctor
init and NotificationService InArea('ToastArea') name lookups are untouched.
This completes Phase 2: MainWindow.xaml is now a 123-line shell.
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md Phase 2 tracker updated in same commit.
LeftPanel.xaml(.cs) takes the Row 1 Col 0 panel (layers + properties editor and
the live chat list). All property-editor/chat handlers moved into the control
(SourceNameBox edit, AddSourceButton menu, chat autoscroll self-subscribed on
Loaded, mirror/clip-shape, remove-source, background capture change/refresh,
opacity slider label, list drag-to-reorder, snapshot revert/accept family).
Window keeps only shell + routing: ctor wiring (_leftPanel), geometry, hotkeys,
taskbar overlay, BackToAbout, Window_PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown (uses
_leftPanel.IsClickInside), UpdateSelectionOverlay (calls _leftPanel.OnSelectionChanged).
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md Phase 2 tracker updated in same commit.
SceneThumbnailStrip.xaml(.cs) takes the Row 0 scene-picker strip (ItemsControl
over Scenes with staged/live border highlight); Thumbnail_MouseLeftButtonDown
moved into the control, transitioning via DataContext.TransitionToScene.
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md Phase 2 tracker updated in the same commit.
PreviewPane.xaml(.cs) takes the center preview (Row 1 Col 1): the 1920x1080
canvas (OverlayCanvas/SelectionOverlay/BrandFlashLayer/SocialBarElement),
the text pull-out drawer, and the live-controls row (TRAX / game / mic meters,
volume sliders, speaker toggles, socials button) inside the preserved
glow/background Border.
Code-behind moved into the control (drive by DataContext==MainViewModel):
preview drag/select/resize/hit-test (Preview_Mouse{Down,Move,Up},
EndPreviewDrag, HitHandle, HitElement), webcam context-menu handlers
(WebcamMenu_ChangeWebcam/SetBorderAnimation/StopBorderAnimation/
FindBorderShape/CreateBorderAnimation/AddDoubleAnimation/SetBorderColor/
HideInScene/Remove), social-bar glow (SocialBar_MouseLeftButtonDown,
SocialsButton_Mouse{Enter,Leave}, SocialGlowTick), audio controls
(VolumeSlider_*, GameVolumeSlider_*, MicSpeaker_*, GameSpeaker_*,
SetSliderValueFromClick, FindParent), and TraxButton_*.
Window keeps the left source/property/chat panel + thumbnail strip + overlay
host, and routes the selection overlay and preview hit-testing through the
control's public surface (_previewPane.UpdateSelectionOverlay(bool),
IsClickInsidePreview/Drawer, PreviewPane.IsDraggableElement). BackgroundMenu_*
stayed in the window because the left-panel source context menu uses them
(the preview's own desktop/refresh menu binds RefreshCaptureCommand instead).
Preserved the outer preview Border (background/glow/margin) that was initially
dropped in the cut — caught and restored before commit. Pruned now-unused usings
(System.Net.Http, Media.Effects, Media.Animation, Media.Imaging, Shapes,
Threading) from MainWindow.xaml.cs.
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md Phase 2 tracker updated in the same commit.
TopBar.xaml(.cs) takes the Row 0 top controls: logo/About button, REC/ON-AIR
pills + status signs, avatar, Sign In/Start/End buttons. The avatar fetch
(AvatarHttp/_loadedAvatarUrl/LoadAvatarImage/ShowAvatarFallback) moved into the
control with async semantics preserved; the window grabs the control via
FindName in its ctor and calls _topBar.RefreshAvatar() when IsConnected or
AccountAvatarUrl changes (previously OnViewModelPropertyChanged -> LoadAvatarImage).
AccountLight is pure binding (never touched by code-behind) so it moved with the XAML.
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Also dropped the now-unused System.IO using from MainWindow.xaml.cs.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md Phase 2 tracker updated in the same commit.
New Controls/ folder + namespace ytLive.Controls. BottomBar takes the
Grid.Row=3 footer: gear menu button (with its GearButton_Click handler moved to
the control's code-behind), centered stream-stats (bitrate/FPS/dropped/
duration/health), and the quality dropdown. All bindings inherit the window
DataContext; app-level styles resolve from Themes/Controls.xaml as before.
Zero behavior change; build 0 warnings; 246 pass, only the 2 known failures.
Docs: ViewModels/index.md tracker gains a Phase 2 section in the same commit.
Mic button/sound bar/slider moved from footer into the preview pane
(vertically below the Socials+TRAX row). Bottom bar reduced to a single
row: gear icon left, stream stats centered under preview, resolution
dropdown right. Avatar image only loads when IsConnected fires true — no
stale image from a previous session on startup. Build 0w, 247 tests.
- FindContentBounds already trimmed the bitmap; the grid/box still rendered at the uncropped user
size, so Fill stretched the tight widget into a bigger frame = dead-between-content-and-border.
- ContentCanvasSize maps the crop rect to canvas units (1920/pixW per axis, DPI-correct) and the
preview event now carries (bitmap, canvasW, canvasH).
- OnWebView2PreviewBitmapChanged sets the element Width/Height to that size; the grid and the
SelectionOverlay (both bound to the element's Width/Height) now equal the widget exactly.
- IsPreviewDragging (set in MainWindow drag/resize) suppresses auto-fit mid-gesture.
- Tests 10/10 (alpha bounds, canvas-size mapping incl. DPI, control size); 0 warnings.
Bundle exception (2026-08-27): this lands prior-session work plus today's
transparency fix as one commit per creator instruction.
WebView2Manager (new): off-screen WebView2 control parked at -5000/-5000 in
the window's visual tree, captures via CapturePreviewAsync every 100 ms into
a BGRA8 VideoFrame. Source Width/Height sync to the control via
PropertyChanged. JS transparent-background injection runs on every
NavigationStarting/NavigationCompleted so the page's own CSS does not paint
white over the capture.
Transparency fix: DefaultBackgroundColor = System.Drawing.Color.Transparent
set on the WPF control before EnsureCoreWebView2Async. The WPF SDK doc says
the value is forwarded to the controller on init; the IDL (ICoreWebView2-
Controller2) confirms alpha=0 makes the capture alpha-preserving. The
prior-session 'CoreWebView2.BackgroundColor' path was the wrong property
name and has been replaced.
LayoutStore: WebUri column added (idempotent ALTER TABLE) and round-tripped
on save/load (schema v11).
MainViewModel: WebView2Manager constructed on Loaded; loaded web sources
re-registered; Source.WebUri PropertyChanged forwards to manager.
MainWindow: off-screen host Canvas added to visual tree.
Tests: 3 scale-sync + WebView2_DefaultBackgroundColor_Is_Transparent +
LayoutStorePersistenceTests.WebSource_WebUri_Persists. 234/236 pass
(2 pre-existing failures unchanged).
Scale bug (DPI/physical-pixel mismatch) still open.
- Source.ShowDesktop bool persisted in DB (schema migration + LayoutStore)
- ClearBackdropCaptureAsync clears CaptureKey + VideoImageSource for static fallback
- Top bar: red/green/pulsing status light, avatar via BitmapImage, Log In button
- ShowStartStream now requires IsConnected
- RunMockChatPreviewAsync: simple async loop, ChatPreviewEnabled property on Source
- EnsureDefaultBackdrop called on every scene switch, seeds all 5 scenes
- SeedEndingBackdrop replaces existing, SeedChatBackdrop added
- SceneCatalog: Chat scene display name corrected (layer = 'YouTube Chat')
- Left panel spacing consistency, context menu reordered
- Border animation rendering via code-behind Storyboard approach
- 3 new backdrop assets (ending-backdrop.jpg, chat-backdrop.jpg, live-backdrop.jpg)
- Build 0 warnings, 178 tests passing
- YouTubeStreamService: added GetBroadcastLiveChatIdAsync to fetch liveChatId from broadcast contentDetails
- YouTubeChatService.Poll(): parse snippet.type to handle textMessageEvent, superChatEvent, newSponsorEvent
- MainViewModel: wire _youtubeChat.Start(liveChatId) in PrepareAndStartLiveAsync after broadcast creation
- MainViewModel: wire _youtubeChat.Stop() in StopStream before encoder stop
- MainViewModel: wire _youtubeChat.Dispose() in Shutdown
- MainWindow.xaml: updated chat DataTemplate with member badge (⭐), Super Chat highlight (💰 + gold border), timestamps (HH:mm)
- MainWindow.xaml.cs: auto-scroll ChatListBox on new messages via CollectionChanged
- Chat lifecycle is non-fatal: failures log and the stream continues without on-panel chat
Skip Thumb clicks (let drag work normally), set value + e.Handled on
track clicks so the RepeatButton's IncreaseLarge/DecreaseLarge can't
override the jumped-to position.
207 tests, 0 warnings.
All three element sections (webcam border, countdown, web URI) now use
consistent [✕][✓] button order. Green check buttons enabled with click
handlers that save current values as snapshot baseline — revert undoes
to last accepted state, not initial selection.
Countdown section buttons were swapped (had [✓][✕], now [✕][✓]).
Webcam and web sections already had correct visual order.
1e of 7-issue polish batch. 207 tests, 0 warnings.
The scrollbar lives inside the ScrollViewer, not the StackPanel
(ElementsPanel). Window_PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown was checking
IsDescendantOf against ElementsPanel, so scrollbar clicks fell through
and nulled SelectedElement. Now checks ElementsScrollViewer instead.
1a of 7-issue polish batch. 207 tests, 0 warnings.
- Elements scrollbar no longer deselects element on click (check ScrollViewer, not StackPanel)
- Web source: URI + check/revert buttons merged into single DockPanel row, consistent order (✓ rightmost)
- Countdown timer moved from Elements panel to inline in source list row, range clamped to 1-30 min
- Volume slider click-to-position restored: e.Handled prevents IncreaseLarge from overriding position, Thumb drag still works
- Desktop audio meter: asymmetric smoothing (attack 0.2, decay 0.08) for faster response to silence
- 207 tests passing, 0 warnings
1. About box bg → #0A0C1A (matches icon bg)
2. Elements panel collapses when no element selected / scene changes
3. OpacityChip moved from preview overlay into Elements panel
4. Color picker fix: cast to SceneElement not Source (WebcamSceneConfig was silently blocked)
5. Red left accent bar on selected items in Scene/Source lists
6. ✓ character replaced with Path checkmark icon in Elements panel
7. Removed ToolTip='Applied' from green check buttons
8. Created bugs.md with first entry (iTunes audio on mic meter)
9. Full logo in README + About box uses ytLlive-logo.png
- TRAX: LocalGain now applies 0.2× factor so music is quieter relative to desktop audio slider
- TRAX tooltip: switched to ToolTipService with Placement=Top to fix z-order in Viewbox overlay
- Mic meter: MeterLevel multiplied by 1.2× before clamping for ~20% higher visual readout
- Volume sliders: click anywhere on track to jump thumb to that position before dragging
- Backdrop: Image Visibility now binds to BackdropVisible; compositor checks IsVisible before blit
- Renamed 'Backdrop' to 'Game Capture' in EnsureBackdrop + test assertions
IFfmpegLocator seam that resolves ffmpeg.exe (PATH -> cache -> pinned download),
plus the licensing compliance that makes a paid GA product defensible.
NOTE FOR USERS: this change shows NO difference in the app's behavior except a
new top-bar "About" button (opens THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt). It is scaffolding
for the encoder/streaming work.
- Services/Encoder/: IFfmpegLocator + FfmpegLocator. Pin is BtbN lgpl-shared
autobuild-2026-08-09-13-03 (NOT gyan.dev/GPL or static: LGPLv2.1 §6 static
relink material avoided by dynamic linking); extracts ffmpeg.exe + libav*.dll
via a staging dir so a crash never leaves a partial cache
- THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt: LGPL/BSD/MIT notices + source offer, copied to the
build output, surfaced by the About button; v1 gate = bundle full license
texts (TASK 4 requirement 9)
- ai.md "Licensing - do not violate" guardrails (never GPL/nonfree/static/latest-
tag, never link FFmpeg in, never drop notices); TASKS.md + Services/index.md
updated
- Tests: FfmpegLocatorTests - hermetic decision-ladder integration test + shared-
build DLL extraction + edge cases; docs updated (78 tests passing, 0 warnings)
- Meter is a READ-ONLY realtime level display: fill = Math.Min(1, AudioLevel * MicVolume) (AudioLevel = live input from the future mixer, 0 with no input; MicVolume is gain on ambient noise). While the slider is dragged the bar previews the slider position (PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown/Up + LostMouseCapture -> SetVolumeAdjusting); on release it returns to the live level (bounces to 0 with no input). Clicking the meter does nothing.
- MicVolume drives MicMuted (read-only, muted <=> volume 0): sliding to 0 flips the speaker to the red slashed mute icon, sliding up from 0 clears it; speaker button runs volume to 0 or restores the prior level (_volumeBeforeMute, default 0.8) and flashes the meter to the restored position for ~300ms (BeginVolumeFlash/EndVolumeFlash DispatcherTimer, cancelled if the slider is grabbed).
- MIC label opens MicPickerDialog (WinRT audio-capture device enumeration, mirrors camera picker, no new packages); the chosen voice source name shows left-justified INSIDE the meter bar (fill at 75% opacity so text + ruler markings show through).
- New files: Services/IMicrophoneEnumerator, MicrophoneDeviceInfo, WinRtMicrophoneEnumerator; ViewModels/MicPickerViewModel; MicPickerDialog.
- Docs updated (ai.md, TASKS.md, Services/index.md, ViewModels/index.md); build 0 warnings, 65 tests passing
